IBSUniversity and North East Academy Signed Scholarship MoU
[Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea – 03 June 2026] – IBSUniversity (IBSU), through the Nadesalingam Foundation for Education (NFFE), has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with North East Academy to offer scholarships for high-achieving Grade 12 students.
The MoU established a collaboration under the Sir Mick Nades Scholarship which will be facilitated through the Nadesalingam Foundation for Education Limited. This initiative will provide scholarship opportunities to eligible top-performing students of North East Academy, continuing a shared commitment to educational excellence and access.

Mr. Sagara Wijeratne, Director of Institutional Development at IBSUniversity, acknowledged the partnership as a significant collaboration: “ We are pleased to partner with North East Academy through today’s MoU and we believe this collaboration will create great opportunities for the students as well as professional development support for teachers in service.”
He added:
“ Also this collaboration will provide pathways for the students’ from their secondary education to higher education at IBSUniversity.”

Mr. Philip Zareve, Principal of North East Academy, expressed the school’s acceptance and support for the MoU: “We are a private institution and this opportunity gives trust to parents who enrolled their students in our school, this agreement with IBSUniversity will give more opportunity to our students.”
Mr. Bosing a senior teacher at North East acknowledges the partnership: “ We would like to extend our sincere thanks to IBSUniversity for the collaboration and we believe that this is a stepping stone for our students to work hard to be eligible to be in the scholarship.”
North East Academy, a private secondary school in Port Moresby, with operations for over six years and current population of students at 200 plus is the second school to sign the MoU for this year, with additional MoU signings expected in the coming months, within NCD and in other provinces.
