IBSUniversity and the Nadesalingam Foundation for Education have partnered with Kundu International Academy to offer scholarships to top students.

[Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea – 20 May 2026] – IBSUniversity (IBSU), through the Nadesalingam Foundation for Education (NFFE), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kundu International Academy to offer scholarships for high-achieving Grade 12 students.
This initiative forms part of IBSUniversity’s broader strategy to strengthen access to higher education through formal partnerships with secondary schools across the National Capital District. To date, nine secondary schools have signed MoUs under this initiative, with IBSUniversity continuing to expand it to additional schools throughout 2026.
Under the programme, IBSUniversity offers merit-based scholarships covering up to 100% of tuition fees, valued at up to K70,400 over four years, to top-performing students.

Mr. Sagara Wijeratne, Director of Institutional Development at IBSUniversity, described the partnership as a significant milestone:
“Today marks the beginning of a very meaningful collaboration between Kundu International Academy and IBSUniversity. This partnership represents quality education, skills development, and greater opportunities for students.”
He added:
“I believe this collaboration will strengthen students’ access to scholarship programmes and pathway opportunities through IBS University and IBS College.”

Dr. Glory Sujitha Anthony, Acting Pro-Vice Chancellor at IBSUniversity, emphasised the importance of the agreement:
“Today is an important day for both institutions as we enter into this Memorandum of Understanding to bring students from Kundu International Academy to IBS University.”
She highlighted the opportunity created through the programme:
“Through this MoU, IBSU agrees to provide scholarship opportunities to eligible students from Kundu International Academy through the Nadesalingam Foundation for Education, subject to the scholarship entry examinations.”

Mr. Emmanuel Yawiapui, Principal of Kundu International Academy, welcomed the partnership and its long-term vision:
“Institutional partnerships are very important in the time we live in, and this agreement marks the beginning of meaningful collaboration between our two institutions.”
He added:
“We are very happy to move forward with signing this MoU and look forward to more positive and meaningful changes in the future between our institutions.”

Kundu International Academy is the first school to sign on for this year, with additional MoU signings expected in the coming months. Looking ahead, IBSUniversity also plans to extend this scholarship programme to secondary schools in other provinces across the country, further widening access to tertiary education.
