[Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea – 24th September 2026]- IBSUniversity and IBS College of TVET have formalised a new partnership with WR Carpenter Group through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at strengthening employability opportunities, and industry engagement for students and graduates through the university’s Career Development Centre.

Through the partnership, WR Carpenter Group will support the Career Development Centre at IBSUniversity through industry engagement activities, including guest lectures and employability sessions designed to give students practical insights into the workplace, career expectations and opportunities within industry.

The partnership will also provide opportunities for graduate trainees from IBSUniversity and IBS College of TVET, allowing graduates to gain valuable workplace exposure and develop practical skills as they transition from study into their professional careers.

Dr. Glory Sujitha Antony, Acting Vice Chancellor and Pro Vice Chancellor (Academic) welcomed the partnership saying:
”This is an important milestone in IBSUniversity, we are signing this MoU with Daltron to be recognised as partners in strengthening graduate employability and we appreciate that through the Career Development Centre, some of our students have already been selected to the organisation, this is just the beginning and through this agreement, will explore the paths in this MoU together.”  

Mr. M. Shehan Zahir, Asistant General Manager South Pacific WR Carpenter Group expressed shared interest in supporting young professionals and creating stronger connections between education and employment in Papua New Guinea:
“Daltron is part of the WR Group and we see the need in Papua New Guinea which is a timely requirement for the country, especially in career development, I have interviewed many Papua New Guineans in multiple roles and sometimes I get to advised them how to get ready for an interview and I think that is one of the key things in the IBSUniversity Career Development Centre where students are taught how to be ready for interviews, so in addition to what we are offering as internships and graduate programmes, we are willing to offer guest lectures to the students.”

Mr. Sagara Wijeratne, Pro Vice Chancellor (Operations), expressed his acknowledgement to the partnership saying:
“The main objective of the Career Development Centre at IBSUniversity is to ensure our students are job ready and they are equipped well with job readiness skills for the workforce, and we appreciate the support from WR (Daltron) to be here today to officiate this MoU.”

The partnership will provide opportunities to learn directly from experienced practitioners and better understand the skills and expectations required in today’s workplace.

The Career Development Centre will play an important role in coordinating the partnership and facilitating activities that support students and graduates in their career development journey.

The MOU marks another step towards creating stronger industry links and expanding opportunities for IBSUniversity and IBS College of TVET students and graduates.
