As part of its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NCD schools, IBSUniversity is extending its engagement beyond student scholarships to include professional development opportunities for teachers.
Under this partnership, IBSUniversity is delivering one-day Generative AI workshops for teachers at participating NCD schools, providing practical exposure to AI tools and their applications in education.

The programme began with a Generative AI Workshop for FODE – NCDC, held on Friday, 4th September 2026, at Lamana Hotel. The session was facilitated by Dr. Lemuel Nalugon – Head of School of Education and Mr. Victor, senior IT Lecturer, who provided teachers with an opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to Generative AI tools and explore ways these technologies can complement their work in the classroom. The training focused on practical applications that they can adapt to their own teaching and professional responsibilities.

Building on the success of the FODE workshop, IBSUniversity recently delivered a similar Generative AI training session for teachers at Butuka Academy Secondary School.
The initiative will continue with a Generative AI Workshop for teachers at Kundu International School in the month of October.

The Generative AI workshops represent an important extension of IBSUniversity’s engagement with its partner schools. Through these workshops, IBSUniversity is creating a space for teachers to learn, experiment and share ideas around emerging technologies while considering how AI can be used appropriately within education.

The University looks forward to continuing these engagements with NCD partner schools and creating more opportunities for knowledge-sharing, professional development and innovation in education.
