The School of Business and Management (SOBM), in association with the Business and Entrepreneur Student Association (BESA), successfully hosted PRAGNA 2026 – The Management Fest on Friday,17th July 2026, bringing together 198 students from ten secondary schools in NCD for a day of innovation, leadership, creativity, and friendly competition.
Recognised as one of the most successful outreach initiatives in IBSUniversity, PRAGNA 2026 provided students with a unique opportunity to experience university life while applying classroom knowledge through practical business and management challenges.

The participating schools were:
- Iarowari Agro Technical Secondary School
- Laloki Secondary School
- Malolo International High School
- Port Moresby International School
- St. Charles Lwanga Secondary School
- NorthEast Academy
- Gerehu Secondary School
- Edai Fode Centre
- Koari Park Adventist Secondary School
- Badiaghwha Technical Secondary School

Throughout the day, students competed in eight engaging competitions designed to challenge their academic knowledge, leadership potential, creativity, communication skills, teamwork, and entrepreneurial thinking.
The competitions included:

Business Quiz – Participants tested their business knowledge through written rounds and buzzer challenges covering company logos, taglines, CEOs, and general business concepts.

Math Wizard – Students demonstrated their mathematical abilities through Grade 10-level problem-solving challenges and competitive buzzer rounds.

Best Manager – Participants completed leadership exercises, case studies, and management simulations that assessed their decision-making, communication, problem-solving, and leadership capabilities.

Recycle Mania – Teams transformed recyclable materials into innovative and practical products, promoting sustainability, creativity, and environmental responsibility.

Business Pitch – Aspiring entrepreneurs presented original business ideas before a judging panel, showcasing innovation, market awareness, feasibility, and presentation skills.

Ramp Walk – Students confidently expressed creativity and personality through themed costumes and stage presentations.

Minute to Win It – Competitors completed exciting one-minute challenges that tested speed, precision, coordination, and teamwork.

Ad Selfie & Ad Reel – Participants first created creative advertising selfies around the IBSUniversity campus before shortlisted teams produced promotional reels showcasing their marketing and digital storytelling skills.
The PRAGNA 2026 highlighted IBSUniversity’s commitment to experiential learning by encouraging students to think critically, solve real-world problems, collaborate effectively, and communicate confidently.

The event also strengthened relationships with secondary schools while providing prospective students with valuable exposure to the University’s dynamic learning environment and industry-focused programmes.
The enthusiasm, creativity, and professionalism displayed by all participants reflected the tremendous potential of Papua New Guinea’s future business leaders.
