The IBSUniversity School of Accounting and Finance (SOAF), in collaboration with the Career Development Centre (CDC), successfully hosted the SOAF First Alumni Meet – 2026 on 22nd August 2026.

Organised by the School of Accounting and Finance Students’ Association (SAFSA), the event brought together 25 alumni who graduated from IBSUniversity since 2017. The gathering provided a platform for alumni to reconnect with the university, network with fellow graduates and reflect on their shared experiences.

Dr. Arumugam Mourougane, Head of the School of Accounting and Finance, welcomed the alumni and emphasized the importance of maintaining strong alumni engagement. He highlighted how alumni participation and feedback contribute to professional accreditation initiatives and the continuous improvement of academic programmes.

The inaugural address was delivered by Mr. Sagara Wijeratne, Pro Vice Chancellor Operations, who shared insights into the future programmes of the Career Development Centre and its role in strengthening alumni engagement.

The programme also featured messages from Controller of Examinations Dr. Thirumal Raman, Ms. Raphaela Sigamata, Southern Cross University Program Manager, and faculty members Dr. Rengalwar Srinivasan, Mr. Milfred Lopez and Mr. Manikandan Sathyamoorthy.

Mr. Lopez highlighted the professional benefits of the CMA Australia and New Zealand pathway, encouraging SOAF alumni to consider it as an opportunity to strengthen their professional qualifications and career prospects.

Beyond the formal programme, alumni and current students participated in a series of interactive games and team activities, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and friendly competition.

The event concluded with a Special Address by Dr. Sujitha Antony, Acting Vice Chancellor, reinforcing the university’s commitment to building meaningful and lasting relationships with its alumni community.

The first SOAF Alumni Meet marks an important step towards strengthening connections between IBSUniversity and its graduates, creating opportunities for continued engagement, professional networking and collaboration.
