Supporting Hope, Strength and Community: IBSUniversity Joins Breast Cancer Awareness

[Port Moresby General Hospital, Friday, 1st November 2024] On Friday, November 1st, IBSUniversity staff initially attended the annual breast cancer awareness event at the Port Moresby General Hospital. This heartfelt event honors breast cancer survivors and remembers those who have lost their lives to the disease.

Demonstrating the university’s support for community and health awareness, IBSUniversity generously donated detergents and toiletries for the cancer ward. This small but significant donation supports the theme for this year’s breast cancer awareness campaign: “No One Should Face Breast Cancer Alone.”

“Though it’s our first time participating in this event, we brought a little something to support, we believe it goes a long way and we will continue to support cancer patients, “stated Dr. Muthuphabra, Guidance Counsellor of IBSUniversity.

Dr. Muthuphabra, Dr. Emmanuel Aquino, and Sr. Dolly Kondowa led a team of six other staff members representing IBSUniversity at the event.

As part of the university’s efforts to engage with the community for health awareness initiatives, the health and safety team at the university has been conducting first aid and health awareness sessions in secondary schools in Port Moresby, empowering youths with knowledge of first aid and healthy lifestyles.
