Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea – June 14, 2024 – The Global Connect 2024 conference on Collaborative Leadership for Sustainable Development, hosted by IBSUniversity in collaboration with Southern Cross University, concluded successfully last Friday, after two days of engaging sessions and impactful dialogues at the Holiday Inn, Port Moresby.

The conference, held from June 13th to 14th, 2024, brought together distinguished business leaders, scholars, researchers, and executives from diverse backgrounds and nationalities. Participants actively participated in interactive panel discussions on business sustainability, research in developing nations, leadership strategies, entrepreneurship, and digital solutions. The event also provided valuable networking opportunities with industry leaders and academics.

Speaking on behalf of IBSUniversity, Dr. Emmanuel Aquino emphasized the conference’s pivotal role in advancing sustainable development initiatives. “Our focus on collaborative leadership stems from the pressing global challenges we face today. As a university committed to sustainable development, we aim to lead impactful research efforts in Papua New Guinea and beyond,” he stated.

Emphasizing the conference’s importance, the Dean of Students highlighted its role in advancing inclusivity, economic growth, and environmental protection. “The discussions on business sustainability emphasized our collective responsibility to safeguard our planet and promote inclusive growth,” he remarked.

Key speakers included Prof. Albert Melam, Chairman of Credit Union PNG, who delivered a keynote address emphasizing the role of collaborative leadership in driving sustainable economic practices.

This conference marks a milestone as the first national collaboration between IBSUniversity and Southern Cross University, coinciding with their 25th anniversary of partnership.
