A spotlight into IBSUniversity participation at the First Ever EU Global Gateway Exhibition Fair in Papua New Guinea
IBSUniversity is proud to have two of its students prominently involved and actively participated in the inaugural European Global Gateway Exhibition Fair in Papua New Guinea. The event took place on May 8th, 2025, at APEC House, Port Moresby.
We pride ourselves on educating students who are academically strong, globally aware, socially responsible, and ready to lead. We celebrate the leadership and student excellency displayed by our students during this event.

Theodora Anis is a final year Economics and Development Studies student who made IBSUniversity proud by becoming the only student selected to join the Panel Discussion following the Lightening 2-Minute Tok session— from student participation among universities and secondary schools. The ‘Lightening Tok’ session was designed to open doors to youth voices and fresh perspectives.
“I was selected among other universities and schools to be one of the panel members of the EU Global Gateway Exhibition, after the “2-minute lightening tok” about sustainability and global development to discuss climate change, that is something I am passionate about and actively doing research on,” Miss Theodora said.
She was selected as the standout student speaker from the Lightening Tok Session, which she was given the opportunity to join Mr. Marton Keri, Programme Manager for Blending and Investments at the EU Delegation to PNG and Mr. Denmark Gimiseve, Senior Engineer from PNG Ports, to give a youth voice on climate change and sustainability. This demonstrates her individual brilliance and also displayed the grit, preparation, and academic excellence that defines our student body at IBSUniversity.

With professionalism, insight, and poise, Theodora represented not just her peers, but the whole IBSUniversity community.
Meanwhile Miss Zimmah Neinaka, a final-year Business Management student at IBSUniversity, and former president of the university led the panel and took on hosting duties for this prestigious event. Her involvement adds depth to the university’s growing reputation for producing student leaders with a global presence.

Expressing her gratitude for being selected as the MC for two international events, she said, “being selected as MC for the EU Global Gateway Exhibition and Europe Day 2025 was an incredible honor. It was my first time in the role, and thanks to the support from the EU Delegation, the Ambassador H.E. Jacques Fradin, and the I-Genious Link team, I was able to confidently host and moderate two major international events. The experience was both eye-opening and energizing, and it motivated me to take on more opportunities like this in the future.”
The European Union Global Gateway Exhibition offers students a rare chance to connect directly with global leaders, innovators, and agents of change—encouraging cross-cultural understanding and broader ways of thinking. Through these interactions, students open doors to internships, scholarships, and career pathways. Events like the Lightening 2-Minute Tok and panel discussions gave students a space to present their ideas and research in a clear, confident voice. With keynote speeches, interactive sessions, and themed exhibits, the event blends academic insight with practical exposure—urging students to take part in conversations on global challenges like sustainable development while also sparking personal ambition and a sense of social responsibility.

Congratulations once again to Theodora Anis and Zimmah Neinaka—your achievement is a lighthouse of what is possible when preparation meets opportunity. You’ve inspired not only your peers but the entire IBSUniversity community. Thankyou to Dr. Durga Prasad, Head of School, Business Management who gave Miss Anis the support she needed to participate in the event and she made us all proud.
At IBSUniversity, we focus on preparing students to think independently, act with purpose, and contribute meaningfully in any setting. The European Gateway Exhibition Fair 2025 offered a global platform—and our students stood out, proving they have the confidence and skills to engage at the highest level.
Here’s to raising standards, opening new doors, and watching our students move forward with clarity and direction.
