The IBSUniversity invites qualified individuals to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) for nomination or appointment to serve as a Member of the Governing Council of IBSUniversity.

The Governing Council is the highest decision-making body of the IBSUniversity, responsible for the strategic direction, policy formulation, financial sustainability, quality assurance and overall governance of the IBSUniversity. This is an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the development and growth of one of the nation’s leading centers of higher education.

Role and Responsibilities
Members of the Governing Council are expected to:

• Provide strategic oversight and policy direction for the University.
• Ensure effective and transparent governance practices.
• Support the achievement of the University’s mission and vision.
• Monitor the financial health and sustainability of the institution.
• Uphold the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and academic excellence.
• Capacity to mobilize resources or contribute to building public/private partnerships that support the University’s strategic objectives.

Eligibility Criteria

Interested individuals must meet the following criteria:

• Academic or Professional Standing: Minimum of bachelor’s degree from a recognized universities and a distinguished career in academia, public service, private sector, or a relevant profession.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience in governance, management, finance, law, education, or related fields.
• Integrity: A strong reputation for ethical leadership, integrity, and independence.
• Commitment: Willingness and ability to dedicate sufficient time and effort to Council responsibilities.
• Conflict of Interest: Must not currently hold a position or have affiliations that pose a conflict of interest with university governance.

Desirable attributes include:

• Experience in higher education, governance or public policy.
• Understanding of emerging trends in global and local education.
• Advocacy for diversity, equity, and inclusion in academia.

Nomination and Application Process

Interested individuals or nominating entities should submit:

• A formal letter of expression of interest (EOI) or nomination.
• A detailed curriculum vitae (CV) of the nominee.
• A personal statement (maximum 2 pages) addressing the criteria above and outlining motivation and vision for serving on the Council.
• At least two referees who can speak to the nominee’s qualifications and character.

Honorarium as Sitting Allowance

Members of the Governing Council shall be entitled to receive an honorarium as a sitting allowance for each Council meeting attended, with meetings scheduled on a quarterly basis (four times per calendar year).
