IBSUniversity Orientation from February 12-14, 2025 -What to Expect

Welcome, new students! As you start your academic life, here at IBSUniversity, we’re excited to kick off your journey with an engaging and informative Orientation Week from February 12 to February 14, 2025.

Here’s what you can expect during this essential event:

  1. Faculty Introduction

Orientation will start with official welcome sessions, where you’ll meet university leadership, faculty members, and fellow new students. These sessions will introduce you to IBSUniversity’s values, academic expectations, and key administrators who will support you throughout your university experience.

  • Campus Tour

Get to know your new environment through guided campus tours. You’ll explore lecture halls, libraries, computer labs, student lounges, and the beautiful art installations on campus. Understanding where everything is will make your transition smoother and help you access the resources you need for your studies.

  • Social Events & Building Connections

University life offers numerous opportunities beyond academics, including building strong connections. Orientation Week introduces student government, and a range of clubs designed to bring together students from diverse backgrounds. Events and programs throughout the year (detailed during orientation) offer further opportunities to join these clubs, form a support network, and improve your university experience.

  • Student Support Services

We want you to succeed both academically and personally. During Orientation, you’ll be introduced to various support services available to you, including counseling, career advice, academic support, health services, quality assurance, and library services. These services are here to help you have smooth sailing in your first year of study at our university.

  • Computer Literacy Training

As part of Orientation Week, you’ll also receive computer literacy training to give you the confidence to traverse the digital aspects of university life. This training will cover essential skills like how to operate the PC, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and how to use university software, like the ERP system and Moodle. Moreover, you will be trained on how to access online resources and efficiently manage digital tools for your studies.

  • Fun Games, Activities, and Light Refreshments

We believe that fun is an essential part of your university experience! Throughout Orientation Week, you’ll have the chance to unwind and enjoy some lighthearted moments with fun games and activities. This will be a great way to get to know your new friends in a relaxed atmosphere. To keep you refreshed and energized, light refreshments will also be available during lunchtime, keeping you fueled while you take part in all the exciting activities for the rest of the three days.

Tips for Orientation Week:

  • Review the Schedule: Check the official orientation schedule to plan ahead.
  • Bring Essential Documents: Have notebooks and biro’s ready to take notes.
  • Stay Open-Minded and Curious: Be ready to meet new people and absorb valuable information. We encourage you all to ask questions.

This week is just the beginning of your unforgettable university experience. We’re excited to welcome you to IBSUniversity, where your future awaits!
