[IBSUniversity, Port Moresby, February 6, 2025] In a humble yet meaningful moment, we were excited to host a special partnership event as part of our ongoing effort to support our students’ learning experiences and advance into innovation in technology. Though the event was small in context, it was quite significant at the IBSUniversity’s Genius Bar, yesterday. The event saw us welcome the visiting Niunet team, who were on-site to donate the latest IT servers with built-in firewalls, routers, switches, and a desktop computer to our Student Coders’ Club under the School of Information Technology.
This is the second time our SOIT Coders’ Club has received such generous donations from Niunet, with valuable networking components that will boost the club’s technical resources during the 2025 academic year. “Essentially, this donation will create a sandbox environment for the students, allowing them to test the things they are trying to build securely. Moreover, we will be conducting security training sessions and networking events. We want to give our students the kind of learning experiences that reflect real-life scenarios, beyond the classroom. All things considered, we’re invested in establishing a long-term partnership between the Coding Club and IBSUniversity as a whole,” said Mr. Chris Black, NiuNet Representative.
The Coders’ Club under the School of Information Technology is known for its innovative efforts in technology, coding, and networking. Better still, IBSUniversity provides an environment where students can exercise their initiatives in partnering with external parties to engage in hands-on projects and experiments in Technology.
Vice Chancellor Professor Ramachandran Arunachalam expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Niunet team on behalf of IBSUniversity and the School of Information Technology and assured them of his support for a long-term partnership with Niunet and the IBSUniversity SOIT Coders’ Club.

Niunet, a company recognized for its expertise in networking solutions, has long been dedicated to developing and educating the citizens of Papua New Guinea by building the country’s best decentralized content delivery network. Their decision to donate these essential pieces of equipment to the Coders’ Club signifies the crucial role played by industry partnerships with educational institutions, providing students with the resources and experiences they need in today’s fast-evolving technological landscape.
For members of the Coders’ Club, this donation means more than just new equipment; it represents a unique opportunity to grow, experiment, and apply their classroom knowledge outside of the school setting. The Coders’ Club, which was established last year with just 10 students, is expecting an increase in membership in 2025. Temmah Vanariu and Jerald Kogia, representatives of the club, were present yesterday to receive the donations. On behalf of the club, Miss Temmah expressed her gratitude and said, “It is the goal of the club to broaden and grow, inviting more tech enthusiasts and students from around the country to engage with us. We will use this equipment to gain much-needed experiences while giving back to the people of Papua New Guinea as well at the same time.”
This event is one of the many we are planning to organize, as our mission is to provide students with the resources they need to succeed. We are excited about the opportunities these new additions will bring to the Coders’ Club this year.
