IBSUniversity mourns the loss of Mr. Moses Kewa, a lecturer in our Business and Management School. He was a kind and quiet man who dedicated himself to helping students learn. During his nearly two years at IBSUniversity, he made a real difference in the lives of those he taught.
Mr. Kewa wasn’t one to seek the spotlight. He found joy in the subtle moments of academic discovery, in seeing those “aha!” moments light up his students’ faces. Patient and gentle, he made learning an engaging and positive experience. He didn’t just tell students what to think; he empowered them to learn how to think for themselves.
The news of Mr. Kewa’s passing saddened the entire IBSUniversity community. He was a valued lecturer, a supportive colleague, and a friend to many. His quiet dedication and genuine care touched numerous lives. Even at POM General Hospital, his IBSUniversity colleagues took the time out to go and visit him, demonstrating their care and support, a telling gesture of how IBSUniversity aids its staff.

In more ways than one, at IBSUniversity, we believe in supporting each other, especially during difficult times. When Mr. Kewa passed away in his home province of Mount Hagen, the university and his colleagues wanted to extend their heartfelt sorrows to his family. His relatives established a haus krai at Skyview Estate in Port Moresby, and IBSUniversity representatives visited to present cash contributions toward funeral expenses. This gesture reflects our deep commitment to our staff—past and present—and demonstrates our core values of kindness, respect, and solidarity.
Mr. Kewa’s contributions to IBSUniversity, though often delivered quietly, were significant. He exemplified the qualities we cherish as an institution: dedication, integrity, and a genuine commitment to the growth and development of our students. We will remember him not for grand pronouncements, but for the countless small acts of kindness and support that made a real difference in the lives of others. He taught us that true impact isn’t always loud or flashy; sometimes, it’s the quiet dedication, the humble spirit, and the genuine care for others that leaves the most lasting legacy. We will forever remember Mr. Moses Kewa for his contributions to IBSUniversity and the development of human resources in Papua New Guinea.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
