Dr. Durga Prasad Repakula is currently serving as the Senior Lecturer and Head of the School of Business and Management at IBS University. With over 17 years of academic and research experience, he has made significant contributions to higher education through teaching, research, and academic leadership. Dr. Prasad has published 28 research papers in national and international journals, conferences, and seminars. He has contributed to four patents and authored the book Principles of Human Resource Management. His primary teaching and research interests lie in General Management, Human Resource Management, and Entrepreneurship. Prior to his tenure at IBS University, he worked as an Assistant Professor at the School of Business and Economics, Adigrat University, Ethiopia, for four years.

Dr. Prasad holds active memberships in professional bodies such as the Hyderabad Management Association and the National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN). During his academic career in India, he coordinated several academic and accreditation-related activities, including roles NBA, NAAC, UGC, AICTE and JNTUH and was a member of the MBA program development committee at Adigrat University in 2014. At IBS University, he led as the Student Entrepreneurship Program (StEP) Coordinator from 2022 to 2024. In recognition of his mentorship in entrepreneurship, he was awarded the Best Entrepreneur Mentorship Award for 2024–2025 by Thozhil Valarchi Publication, Chennai, India. Dr. Prasad is also an active reviewer for reputed journals including the International Journal of Social Sciences and Commerce (IJSSC), Asian Journal of Economics, Finance and Management (AJEFM), and the Journal of Corporate Finance Management and Banking System (JCFMBS).

Name: Dr. Kanakaraj Nataraj

Designation : Senior Lecturer & Acting Head – School of Business and Management

Dr. Kanakaraj is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Accounting and Finance at IBSUniversity, Papua New Guinea. He has over 20 years of teaching experience and 15 years of research expertise in the field of Management with specialization in finance. Prior to joining IBS University, he served as the Academic Coordinator and Chair of Applied Finance at RVS CAS School of Management Studies (PG) and also held the position of Associate Professor during his tenure there.  He has supervised 4 Ph.D. and 5 M.Phil. scholars and is currently guiding 6 Ph.D. candidates. Dr. Kanakaraj holds dual Ph.D. degrees in Finance and Commerce and has published extensively in reputed national and international journals. His academic contributions include participation in over 30 seminars and conferences and more than 40 faculty development programs and workshops. His research interests include financial markets, corporate finance, and risk management. He complements his academic knowledge with practical training from Ernst & Young, Infosys, FinShiksha, NIT Trichy, and IBM. Dr. Kanakaraj is widely recognized for his dedication to academic excellence and research-driven teaching.

Name : Mrs. Abinaya Nagamuthu

Qualification : B.Sc., (Statistics) M.Sc., (Statistics) M.Phil., (Statistics) PGDIT&D

Designation : Senior Lecturer, School of business and Management

Mrs. Abinaya Nagamuthu is a Senior Lecturer at IBSUniversity’s School of Business and Management Specialized in Statistics. She holds a Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Master of Philosophy in Statistics, along with a Postgraduate Diploma in Inclusive Training and Development. With over eight years of teaching experience, she has published multiple articles in peer-reviewed journals and participated in more than 20 international conferences and workshops. Her research interests include Bayesian statistics, big data analytics, and econometrics.

At IBSUniversity, Mrs. Nagamuthu has been involved in a government-funded research project approved by the PNG Science and Technology Secretariat, focusing on the future of tertiary education in Papua New Guinea. In 2023, she completed a certified short course in university leadership funded by the Australian Awards. She also serves as the coordinator for the Business Entrepreneurship School Association (BESA) and has organized both national and international conferences at IBSUniversity.

Prior to her current role, she was an Assistant Professor at K.S.R. College of Arts and Science in India, where she contributed to organizing an ICMR-funded international conference as a member of the Research and Development team. Mrs. Nagamuthu is an active member of the International Indian Statistical Association (IISA). Her teaching philosophy emphasizes critical thinking, applied problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making.

Name : Ms. Harika Repakula

Qualification : BCom (General), MBA (Major in Finance and Systems), (PhD)

Designation : Lecturer, School of Business and Management

Ms. Harika Repakula is a Lecturer at IBSUniversity, Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, with over 14 years of academic and industry experience. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Management and specializes in Financial Management, Managerial Economics, International Business, and Portfolio Management. She has published seven research papers in UGC-indexed journals, covering topics such as portfolio risk optimization, financial statement analysis, and dividend policy impacts. Ms. Harika has presented papers at five national and international seminars, addressing subjects like Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Papua New Guinea and the role of women entrepreneurs. She has also contributed as a reviewer for academic journals and served on various committees at IBS University. At IBSU, she plays a leadership role by coordinating the Student Entrepreneurship Program (StEP) 2025 and delivering lectures across undergraduate and postgraduate programs. She has guided over 150 student projects and contributed extensively to curriculum development for business management courses. Before joining IBS University, she served as an Assistant Professor at Malla Reddy Engineering College for Women, Malla Reddy Institute of Engineering & Technology, and C. Malla Reddy Institute of Management in India. During her tenure, she played key roles in NBA and NAAC accreditation processes and worked as a Counsellor, supporting students’ academic and personal growth. Recognized for her commitment to student mentorship and academic leadership, Ms. Harika continues to be a driving force in shaping future business leaders.

Name : Dr. Dhanakpackiam Kuppusamy

Designation : Senior Lecturer in School of Business and Management

Dr. Dhanakpackiam Kuppusamy currently working as a senior lecturer in School of Business and Management, IBSUniversity, Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. A committed as a senior lecturer with over 14 years in academic and 4 years in research experience in Mother Teresa Women’s University Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu, India. Leading Institute of Business Studies (IBS) now deserved University Status and also affiliated with Southern Cross University, Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. She developed course materials in online for Kumul Training Institute (KTI), Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. Dr. Dhanakpackiam Kuppusamy published thirteen text books in the area of Tourism, Management, Hospitality Industry and Information Technology. Nine papers are published in various peer review journals. Dr. Dhanakpackiam Kuppusamy presented six papers in National and International conference. She attended eight workshop and two Faculty Development Program (FDP) in Mother Teresa Women’s University, Kodaikanal, India. She completed seven research projects for Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC). Her Ph.D. and M. Phil. degree in tourism management were awarded as highly commented from National and International Universities. She obtained award for Excellence in Teaching in Mother Teresa Women’s University, Kodaikanal, India. She is member of Senthalir Human Development Trust, Tamil Nadu, India. She served as a board of studies member in Mother Teresa Women’s University for curriculum designing and development. She also completed two women empowerment research projects for women studies in Mother Teresa Women’s University, Kodaikanal, India.

Name : Mr. Arnold Harriman

Qualification : BSc. (Fe), BSc, (Me), BEd, BBM, MBLM, MHM

Designation : Senior Lecturer – School of Business and Management

Mr. Harriman is currently working as a Senior Lecturer in School of Business and Management at IBSUniversity, he obtained a number of bachelor’s degrees including Education, Mechanical Engineering from leading universities in PNG and Bachelor of Science Facilities Engineering in USA. Mr. Harriman also obtained a Bachelor Degree in Business Management, a Masters in Human Resource Management and a Masters in Business Leadership and Management from Curtin University Technology-Perth, WA.

Mr. Harriman has over 25 years of corporate level strategic management experiences with world-class oil & gas companies in overseas and mining and the electricity company in PNG. From 2013 to 2017 Mr. Harriman was executive general manager human resources for PNG Power Limited – a position he well served. And from 2018 to 2023 worked for Divine Word University as academic/lecturer for 10 years teaching under-graduate and post-graduate courses at DWU-Port Moresby Campus before joining up with IBS University’s School of Business Management on February 8th of 2024 as Senior Academic.

Name : Dr Muthu Prabha V

Qualification : BHMS, Msc Psychology, Diploma Yoga

Designation : Head of Student Affairs and Guidance counsellor

Dr. Muthu Prabha serves as the Head of Student Affairs and Guidance Counsellor at IBSUniversity since October 2022, Papua New Guinea, where she also oversees and manages academic units within the School of Business and Management. She concurrently holds the position of Adjunct Lecturer at Southern Cross University, contributing to the Faculty of Business, Law, and Arts. Dr. Prabha earned her Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and an MSc in Psychology from the University of Madras. With over 12 years of professional experience spanning medicine, counselling, and youth development,

Dr. Prabha has worked extensively as a counsellor supporting youth and women, emphasizing academic achievement, personal growth, and holistic development, in collaboration with the Government of Kerala. During this tenure, she organized numerous awareness programs, workshops, and community outreach initiatives, and partnered with the Kerala Police Anti-Drug Squad to promote community safety and substance abuse prevention. Dr. Prabha has also practiced as a homoeopathic physician at Pacific International Hospital, integrating medical care with counselling to support patients’ physical, emotional, and psychological wellbeing.

Her professional expertise bridges student wellbeing, counselling, and academic leadership, enabling her to guide, mentor, and inspire students while fostering an environment of ethical leadership, personal growth, and holistic development. Dr. Prabha has extensive experience teaching Personality Development, Consumer Behaviour and related units.

Name : Mr. Levai John

Qualification : BBM, PGDE, MBA

Designation : Lecturer – School of Business and Management

Mr. John holds a Bachelor of Business Management, Master in Business Administration from the University of Papua New Guinea and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from the PNG Education Institute. He brings over 5 years of Tertiary teaching experience at Port Moresby Business College, complemented by industry roles in Aviation Screener and supervisor. He has also been engaged in SME and business consulting in Papua New Guinea for the past four years.

Mr. John has taught a wide range of courses in Business Management and Human Resource Management and has developed course materials in Labour and Employment Relations, Negotiation and Conflict Resolution, and Industrial Relations while teaching at Port Moresby Business College. His academic and professional interests include public policy analysis, governance, organizational leadership, and business planning.

Mr. John is committed to student development, applying values like integrity, and service-oriented leadership in his work. He is passionate about mentoring and equipping the next generation of business professionals in Papua New Guinea.
