Port Moresby, August 2, 2024 – IBSUniversity’s People & Culture Department proudly concluded the final installment of their acclaimed “Creating Exceptional Employee Experience” workshop series on August 2, 2024. The event, held at the IBSU boardroom, brought together the university’s academic staff, including lecturers, senior lecturers, heads of schools and research, deans, and the pro-vice-chancellor.
The concluding workshop was led by Mr. Gordon Sailas, Head of People and Culture, and his team, who guided participants through the final phase of the training. This session focused on refining strategies to enhance the employee experience within the academic sphere, highlighting the importance of cultivating a supportive and engaging work environment across all levels of the institution.
The workshop covered advanced concepts and provided practical insights into how academic staff and leaders can contribute to a positive employee journey. Key topics included fostering a culture of collaboration, enhancing professional development opportunities, and ensuring that all team members feel valued and motivated.
Participants engaged in interactive discussions and activities aimed at applying the seven key stages of employee experience—Attract, Hire, Onboard, Engage, Perform, Develop, and Depart—to the academic setting. The session emphasized the role of academic leaders in shaping a supportive and productive environment that aligns with the university’s mission and values.
