Once a Habit is in Place, it turns on Autopilot

Imagine waking up early every day without needing an alarm, or hitting the gym regularly without thinking twice, sounds like a dream, right? But once a habit is in place, it’s like setting a car on autopilot – it just happens automatically.

The Magic of Habits: How They Work

Habits are powerful because they take the effort out of decision-making. Instead of using willpower to push yourself to do something, it becomes a part of your routine.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Cue: Something triggers the habit- maybe you feel tired, and that’s your cue to relax.
  • Routine: You follow through with your usual action, like grabbing a book or putting on your workout clothes.
  • Reward: You feel the satisfaction of completing the habit-whether it’s feeling healthy or relaxed.

Why Habits Turn on Autopilot

When you repeat an action repeatedly, your brain starts to make it automatic. This is because your brain likes saving energy, and the more often you do something, the less effort it requires. Over time, habits become part of your identity. You start to see yourself as a ‘healthy person’ or an ‘early riser’, and your actions reflect that.

The Power of Small Habits

Small habits may seem insignificant, but when they stack up, they create powerful results. It’s like adding one drop of water to a cup every day and, eventually, you’ll fill it up without even realizing it.

Start Small: Want to read more? Try reading just one page a day.

Stay Consistent: You don’t need to be perfect; just keep showing up every day.

Add Layers: Once, you’ve built one habit, add another. Maybe you’ll start stretching after your morning walk, or drink a glass of water right after waking up.

The IBSUniversity Way: Creating Habits for Success

It is the belief of IBSUniversity to create systems that help you build positive habits. Whether it’s through daily study routines, regular group discussions, or fitness challenges, we encourage students to create habits that conform with their personal goals.

Learning Made Easy: Small, consistent study habits can help you ace exams without cramming.

Health and Wellness: Just a few minutes of exercise every day can turn into a long-lasting fitness habit.

Autopilot=Success

Once you’ve got a habit in place, it runs on autopilot. You won’t have to think twice about it-you’ll just do it. And that’s when the magic happens. When your habits are in place, success becomes inevitable.
