NCD Secondary Schools Signed MoU for Founder’s Scholarship through NFFE

In a continued effort to promote access to higher education, IBSUniversity (IBSU) through the Nadeslingam Foundation for Education (NFFE), has extended its Founder’s Scholarship to secondary schools in Port Moresby. The initiative aims to recognise and support outstanding Grade 12 students, especially those who wish to pursue further studies in business and related fields.

Ten secondary schools in Port Moresby, National Capital District, have been selected to sign a scholarship agreement with IBSU under the Nadeslingam Foundation for Education.

The official signing of the agreement between the secondary schools and IBSUniversity was carried out successfully from Wednesday 15th to Friday 17th October 2025.

Agreements were signed by nine school principals, with Port Moresby National School of Excellence scheduled to complete the signing in early 2026.

The ten schools nominated for the Founder’s Scholarship include:

  1. Gordons Secondary School – agreement signed by Principal Mr. George Wek Kenega
  2. Port Moresby International School – agreement signed by Principal Mr. S. Rowley
  3. Port Moresby National School of Excellence
  4. Port Moresby Grammar School – agreement signed by Principal Mrs. Mele Olley
  5. Waigani FODE Centre – agreement signed by Principal Mr. Anthony Rayappan
  6. Butuka Academy – agreement signed by Principal Mr. Herman Panai
  7. Marianville Secondary School – agreement signed by Principal Sr. Freda Saura
  8. St. Charles Lwanga Secondary School – agreement signed by Principal Br. Johnson Charles
  9. Kila Kila Secondary School – agreement signed by Principal Mrs. Jean Ifuda
  10. Badihagwa Secondary School – agreement signed by Principal Mrs. Julie Vele

Mrs. Mele Olley, Principal of Port Moresby Grammar School, expressed heartfelt appreciation to Sir Mick Nades, the Nadeslingam Foundation, and IBSUniversity for considering POM Grammar.

“This is the first time Port Moresby Grammar has received such an opportunity. We are grateful to Sir Mick Nades, the Foundation and IBSUniversity for recognizing our students. It is also encouraging to know that fifteen of our former students are currently enrolled in IBSUniversity and Southern Cross University degree programmes,” Mrs. Olley said.

All participating principals expressed their sincere gratitude to the Nadeslingam Foundation for supporting top-performing Grade 12 students from the Business Studies stream.
