Lifting Each Other Higher Through Shared Knowledge: Our Women at IBSUniversity

At IBSUniversity (IBSU), we are passionate in creating a positive and supporting environment where everyone can grow and be successful in their professional and personal endeavors. A big part of this is making sure that the women in our community have the tools and encouragement they need to flourish in their area of responsibilities.

With the collective efforts of our women and led by IBSU Guidance Counsellor Dr. Muthu Prabha Venkitchalam, the women in our organisation came to together for an agreement to meet at the end of every month and share their knowledge, experiences, and ideas with each other. We are excited about this monthly ‘empowering one another meeting” that was organized to uplift our women. The initial meeting was conducted on March 8th, 2025, to observe the International Womens Day.

This platform is created for them to share their stories and experiences and motivate each other so we all, both men and women in the workplace will rise together, building a stronger, more innovative, and fair workplace for everyone.

Empowerment is not something we do alone; it’s something we do together. When the women at IBSUniversity share their knowledge and experiences with each other, it creates an influential chain reaction, it:

Builds a Network of Support

Knowledge and ideas exchange helps our women to connect with one another. This can be done through offering advice, mentoring, or simply talking about their experiences, they create a network where everyone feels involved. This network becomes a safe space to talk about challenges, ask for help, and celebrate each other’s victories. Knowing that there are other women who understand their journey and want to see them achieve their goals is incredibly awesome.

Brings out the dormant potential

Every woman at IBSUniversity brings something unique to the table, it can be a special skill, experience, or perspective. By conversing and having a dialogue on what we know through mentoring, workshops and team projects, we bring to life the sleeping capabilities in each of our women. This exchange of knowledge helps our women to grow and discover their strengths.

Boosting Confidence and Expertise

When our women converse with each other on what they know, it comes in twofold, everyone benefits from it: the one that is talking and the one that is listening. Talking about what we understand and seeing how it helps others boosts our own confidence. At the same time, learning from our colleagues broadens our skills and makes us better at what we do. This cycle of learning and sharing makes our entire organisation more capable.

Encourage Creativity and Critical – Thinking

When women from different backgrounds, departments, and experiences come together, it flashes new ideas. Exchanging of ideas leads to finding solutions for problems. Diverse perspectives help us think in new ways and come up with new approaches. This makes our workplace more innovative and able to tackle challenges more effectively.

Establishing a Culture of Active Development and Mentorship

Lifting each other up through women to women conversations and dialogue, our women engage in a culture of progress and continuous mentorship. These monthly empowerment meetings encourage our women to be a lifelong learner, try new things, and take on leadership roles. It also sets up a legacy of mentorship, where future generations of women leaders at IBSUniversity can continue to thrive.

Collaboration is one of the eight values of IBSUniversity, and we strongly believe in the power of working together to lift each other up. Either through sharing our knowledge with each other or helping each other to grow, we establish a more vibrant, fair, and flourishing environment for all women in our community. We want to make this opportunity available to every woman in our organisation to be a go-getter, one piece of learning at a time.
