IBSUniversity Upskills Next Generation of Leaders with Senisim PNG Facilitator Training

Port Moresby, November 2025 – IBSUniversity (IBSU) continues its strong commitment to value-based leadership by hosting a recent Facilitator Training session for the Senisim PNG Leadership Program, an initiative under the PNG Tribal Foundation. The training successfully equipped a new cohort of students and staff members to become agents of positive change within the university and their wider communities.

The intensive training session was led by Ms. Agnes Andreas, the Senisim PNG Port Moresby (POM) Hub Coordinator. The primary goal was to empower participants to serve as Transformation Table Facilitators (TTD), focusing on core leadership principles and the skills required for effective discussion management.

As a direct result of this training, 10 newly trained facilitators are set to initiate and lead Transformation Table Discussions (TTD) starting in 2026. These sessions will be held among their peers and friends at IBSU, and within their respective communities.

Ms. Andreas explained the structure of the discussions: “A TTD requires a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 10 participants, including the facilitator. Sessions are held weekly at a suitable campus location chosen by the group.”

The Senisim PNG Program utilizes a structured resource booklet focused on 11 foundational values for personal and societal growth. The TTD is an 11-week program, where one value is discussed each week. Participants are encouraged to put the value into practice during the week and share their feedback and experiences in the following session.

Upon successful completion of the entire 11-week program, participants are awarded official Certificates. Catch-up sessions are available for those who miss one or two values to ensure everyone completes the program. The Senisim PNG team plans to hold similar sessions for more students throughout 2026.

The 11 Values of the Senisim PNG Program:

HOPE: Hope is a belief in action

HUMILITY: “Humility is making a right estimation on oneself” – Charles Spurgeon

INTEGRITY: “Reputation is what people think we are. Integrity is what we really are” – John C Maxwell

ADDING VALUE: “Adding value to others requires a person to give of himself, and that rarely occurs by accident” – John C Maxwell

RESPONSIBILITY: “The one thing all successful people have in common is to take responsibility” – John C Maxwell

COMMITMENT: It separates Doers from Dreamers

EMPATHY: “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care” – John C Maxwell

PURPOSE: “Everyone has a purpose. You are not here by mistake” – Ben Morrow

LISTENING: Focus your attention on understanding the other person

ATTITUDE: “Attitude is the difference maker! Attitude isn’t everything, but it is one thing that can make a difference in your life” – John C Maxwell

COMMON AGENDA: “Begin with the end in mind” – Stephen Covey

The latest training reaffirms IBSU’s active role in the national movement, which is a strategic partnership between the PNG Tribal Foundation and the Maxwell Leadership Foundation aimed at injecting good values and servant leadership into society.

IBSUniversity has historically been a strong contributor to this initiative. In a recent certification event, 42 IBSU students were certified as Transformation Table Facilitators, marking the highest participation from a single university amongst other institutions. The university also proactively engages its staff in the program to ensure that the values are integrated across the institution. By continually investing in its students and staff through programs like Senisim PNG, IBSU is fulfilling its mission to shape not just academically competent graduates, but also socially responsible citizens ready to lead positive change in Papua New Guinea.
