[Mt. Eriama Campus, Sogeri Road, Port Moresby – March 20, 2025] – The School of Information Technology at IBSUniversity has officially launched TechMinds Association 2025, a student-led group dedicated to bringing tech enthusiasts together to learn, share ideas, and grow their skills.

During the opening ceremony, Pro-Vice Chancellor Mr. Jobin M. Scaria spoke about the increasing importance of IT in today’s world and encouraged students to take full advantage of this new platform. Dr. Sujitha, Head of School, introduced the association’s five divisions, each designed to help students develop technical expertise, build networks, and take part in exciting projects:
- Net Rider’s Hub – Hands-on networking training and workshops
- IT Brilliance Hub – AI, robotics, and short-term skill-building programs
- Coder’s Club – Programming, coding challenges, and hackathons
- IT Recreation Center – Social events and student gatherings
- iResearch Hub – A space for IT research and new ideas

Mr. Deepan (Senior Lecturer and TechMinds Association In-Charge) introduced the 2025 office bearers, who took an oath to serve the association with honesty and dedication.

The event featured an engaging workshop on “Cyber Security in the Digital Age” led by Chief Guest Ms. Bernadette Caleb. She spoke about online security risks and how students can protect their personal and professional information in an era of increasing cyber threats.

TechMinds Association 2025 has already lined up two major events for the year:
- Convergence 2025 – A tech conference featuring industry professionals and student-led discussions
- TechFest 2025 – A platform for students to showcase their projects, creativity, and technical skills

This association opens doors for IT students to gain real-world experience, sharpen their abilities, and connect with like-minded peers. All students are encouraged to participate and make the most of this opportunity.
