IBSUniversity (IBSU) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Port Moresby Business College (POMBISCOL), marking the beginning of a strengthened academic partnership.

This agreement is aimed at accrediting the Diploma programmes of Port Moresby Business College and enabling students to progress directly into Associate Degree and Bachelor Degree programmes at IBSUniversity.

The signing ceremony was held on Monday, 8 September 2025, at the IBSUniversity Mt. Eriama Corporate Boardroom. The event was witnessed by ten representatives from Port Moresby Business College and eleven representatives from IBSUniversity. The MoU was signed by the Principal of Port Moresby Business College, Mrs. Carmela Mokulabeta, and the Vice Chancellor of IBSUniversity, Professor Ramachandran Arunachalam.

 Mrs. Carmela Mokulabeta, Principal of Port Moresby Business College, stated:
“For a government college to sign an MoU with a private university and gain its accreditation to create pathways for diploma students is a breakthrough for Port Moresby Business College.”

Professor Ramachandran Arunachalam, Vice Chancellor of IBSUniversity, remarked:
“IBSUniversity is providing quality education with an upgraded curriculum to meet industry needs. We are pleased and honoured to enter into this MoU with Port Moresby Business College to provide pathways for Diploma students to pursue an Associate or Bachelor Degree at IBSUniversity.”

The Pro Vice Chancellor Academics Mr. Jobin Scaria at IBSUniversity further added:
“IBSUniversity is entering into MoUs with industry partners to ensure students are prepared for employability aligned with industry requirements. Students are not only taught in classrooms but are also provided opportunities to showcase business ideas, leadership skills, and communication skills while pursuing their studies.”

The first intake of Diploma graduates from Port Moresby Business College under this partnership will commence in 2026 and continue onwards.
