On Friday, April 25th, IBSUniversity (IBSU) came alive with color, confidence and culture as students gathered for the schools highly anticipated “Level Up: Identity Celebration” – a fashion event.

With the themed as “The choice to be authentic”, the event was a vibrant show of identity, diversity and creative expression, organized by year one (1) students with the support of Dr Muthu Prabha Venkitachalam, Head of Student Affairs. This event is an annual event at IBSU that aims to develop students’ confidence, leadership, organizing and communication skills which the corporate world is looking for.

Gracing the show with her presence, was the reigning Miss Bird of Paradise 2025, May Torowi Hasola, she made an appearance as the chief judge. The judging panel consists of rising designer Ms. Avola Manu, fresh of her win at the Cosmopolitan Amateur Fashion Designers Competition, and Ms. Anette, secretary to Miss Bird of Paradise and the Miss Bird of Paradise herself.

The program first featured the 8 values of IBSUniversity, modeled out students in a sash walk. Then the show progressed with 4 categories, which was the 90s casual, pacific wear, formal wear and traditional wear.

Awards were presented to the Top Male Model, Vincent Kepi, and Top Female Model, Fransisca Wangei.

Identity is something that should be celebrated, and not hidden. For the IBSU students, it was a chance to step forward, to be seen by their fellow peers, and to say with pride: “this is who I am”.
