[Rigo, Central Province, 5 December 2025]— IBSUniversity (IBSU) & IBS College of TVET (IBSC) in collaboration with Nadesalingam Foundation for Education (NFFE) were proud to take part in the recent Rigo Future STEM Day, held at Allan Jones Primary School in Hula Village. This STEM Day was an initiative of Rigo Futures Inc., dedicated to promote STEM education and career pathways among young minds in rural communities.
The event brought together Grade 6 to Grade 8 students and teachers from five primary schools in the neighboring villages of Babaka, Makerupu, Kamali, Hula and Kalo giving hundreds of young learners the opportunity to witness the exciting world of STEM in action. For many, this was their first experience engaging directly with scientific tools, innovative demonstrations, and real-world applications of technology in Papua New Guinea.

The mission of Rigo Futures Inc. aligns closely with IBSU, IBSC & NFFE’s commitment to shaping future-ready learners. Through interactive workshops, hands-on activities, and mini-displays, students explored how STEM can unlock creativity and critical thinking skills.
Volunteers from various STEM backgrounds, carefully selected by the KataLite Consultancy team, played a vital role in delivering each demonstration. Their passion and expertise helped build a learning environment where curiosity was encouraged and questions were welcomed.

IBSU/IBSC representatives joined Helifix and Eda Davara Marine Sanctuary to showcase the practical and career pathways of STEM. These displays ignited genuine excitement among young participants, offering them a glimpse of pathways they may choose to pursue in secondary school and beyond.

As part of our involvement, IBSUniversity in collaboration with the Nadesalingam Foundation For Education (NFFE) was a proud sponsor of the event and also a stall was set-up to support the event. Students learned about the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), and the pathways available to them after they complete their secondary education in our stall. It was a meaningful opportunity to connect with children and share their passion for technology in Education.

The successful turnout and the overwhelming enthusiasm from students, parents, teachers, and community leaders showcased the significance of investing early in STEM education. This is where the seeds of innovation are planted, and where the future scientific capacity of our nation begins to grow.
IBSUniversity, IBS College of TVET & Nadesalingam Foundation for Education extend our heartfelt thanks to Rigo Futures Inc. for inviting us to be part of this milestone event. We look forward to supporting more initiatives that empower young Papua New Guineans to explore STEM and contribute confidently to the nation’s development.
