Exploring Industry Insights: Student Visits to Ilimo Diary and 9 Mile Farm

On August 12th 2025, our pre-final and final-year students were privileged to visit Ilimo Dairy and 9 Mile Farm. These industry visits provided invaluable exposure in practical setting, in this case – modern agricultural practices, sustainable farming techniques, and food processing operations.

At Ilimo, our students had the opportunity to observe the full cycle of dairy product processing—from washing and sorting raw materials to packaging finished products. The visit emphasized the critical role of quality control, hygiene standards, and efficient production management in the dairy industry. Interactive sessions with the management team further deepened students’ understanding of both the challenges and opportunities in food processing.

At 9 Mile Farm, students explored sustainable farming methods and the use of technology in agriculture. They gained practical insights into crop rotation, organic farming, and modern irrigation systems. This hands-on experience highlighted the innovation, planning, and dedication required to successfully manage a farm.

These visits enabled students to connect classroom theories with real-world applications, strengthening their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. By observing daily operations and engaging directly with industry professionals, students gained a clearer perspective on potential career paths within agriculture and food production.

IBSUniversity extends its sincere gratitude to Ilimo Dairy, and 9 Mile Farm for their hospitality and expertise. Opportunities like these not only enrich our students’ learning journey but also prepare them to meet future professional challenges with confidence.
