Green Growth Innovations: Business Pitch Competition-2025
Objective: To identify and nurture innovative, sustainable business ideas that promote green growth in PNG’s promising provinces. The competition aims to stimulate young minds to develop eco-friendly solutions that address environmental challenges while driving economic growth and social progress.
Eligibility: Open to all undergraduate students from all disciplines at IBSUniversity (IBSU), Pacific Adventist University (PAU) & University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG)
Registration: Free of cost. Registration deadline: [26 July 2025]
Participation Format:
- Individual or team participation (3-4 members max per team)
- Interdisciplinary teams are encouraged
Competition Process:
- Initial Submission (Deadline: 08.08.2025)
- 1000-word business idea outline including:
- Problem statement and proposed solution
- Target market analysis
- Unique value proposition
- Business model overview
- Preliminary financial projections
- Social impact on PNG
- 1000-word business idea outline including:
- Shortlisting (Announcement by 12.08.2025)
- Selected ideas will be notified to proceed to the final round
- Final Presentation (22.08.2025)
- 15-minute pitch presentation + 5-minute Q&A
- Presentation should cover:
- Refined business plan
- Market entry strategy
- Detailed financial projections (3-5 years)
- Funding requirements and potential sources
- Implementation timeline
- Scalability and long-term vision
Evaluation Criteria:
- Innovation and originality (25%)
- Feasibility and market potential (25%)
- Financial viability (20%)
- Social impact on PNG (15%)
- Presentation quality and team dynamics (15%)
Prizes:
- Top 3 winners will receive cash prizes (amounts to be specified)
- All participants will receive certificates of participation
Additional Support:
- Mentorship sessions available for shortlisted teams
- Resources on pitch preparation and business planning will be provided
