Covering key areas including governance, risk and compliance, infrastructure security, network security, systems security, software security, and application security, this specialisation provides a comprehensive understanding of both the technical and strategic aspects of cybersecurity. Graduates are prepared to tackle the challenges of safeguarding information and infrastructure in various industries, positioning themselves for success in roles like cybersecurity analyst, network security engineer and IT security consultant.

If you’re passionate about protecting digital systems, securing networks, and defending against cyber threats, this program equips you with the technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills to thrive in the cybersecurity field. With a strong focus on real-world applications, the degree combines hands-on experience in security technologies with a strategic understanding of risk and compliance. You can also gain valuable industry experience through the Industry Practice unit.

About This Course

Combine the passion for teaching with highly desired technical skills. This programme prepares scholars as secondary school teachers in the Technological and Applied Studies area, which includes design, computing, graphics, and industrial technologies. With a focus on creativity and innovation, this course also has an emphasis on social, cultural, ethical, and environmental sustainability. As well as building understanding and proficiency in educational leadership, assessment approaches, and teaching methods, the course puts learning into practice during placements in secondary schools or vocational education settings.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the programme, students will be able to:

  • Apply the teaching skills for effectively conducting the teaching tasks.
  • Apply the management and administrative skills for effective school and classroom management.
  • Demonstrate the ability to assess the students' learning progress.
  • Apply the curriculum development skills to develop a comprehensive teaching curriculum.
  • Apply guidance and counselling skills to help students in solving their challenges.
  • Demonstrate mathematical, probability, and statistical skills in solving ICT problems.
  • Apply computer programming theories and techniques in developing computer software.
  • Use modelling and graphics techniques in analysing and designing web- based information systems.
  • Apply system requirements concepts in analysing and designing computer applications.
  • Use computer networks and hardware techniques in securing organizational data.
  • Employ communication, development perspectives, research methodology, entrepreneurial, and professional skills in solving organizational problems.

Entry Requirements

  • Grade 12 with a minimum ‘B’ level pass in English and Mathematics.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.50 or
  • Certificate 4 from IBS College of TVET or Diploma from a recognized institution.

The programme welcomes teacher assistants, professionals, and aspiring educators in PNG and the Pacific seeking to enhance their digital and blended teaching skills.
Teachers in Papua New Guinea will be granted Advanced Standing units in recognition of their prior teaching experiences and professional qualifications.
