Helping Students to be Responsible Leaders through Senisim PNG Leadership Training Program
IBSUniversity-Port Moresby, July 19 2025
IBSUniversity recently welcomed the Senisim PNG Leadership Training Program, that will give students the chance to learn how to build confidence, how to make good decisions and create positive change in their communities. The program was coordinated by the Student Affairs Department in and SAFSA (School of Accounting and Finance Student Association).

This Leadership Training is called the Transformative Table Discussion Program (TTD) which will take course for over 11 weeks. It will offer students an exciting learning experience, concentrating on developing leadership skills based on values, responsibility, and service to the community, these are key areas for building a stronger Papua New Guinea.

In week 1 TTD, the participants were encouraged to reflect deeply on their role in society and how they could influence positive behaviours within the campus and the communities they come from.
Dr. Muthu Prabha Venkitachalam, Head of Student Affairs, shared the importance of such programs, “leadership begins with self-awareness and a willingness to serve others. The Senisim PNG program aligns with our commitment to shaping not just academically competent graduates, but socially responsible citizens with good values,” she said.

Student Affairs & SAFSA brought in an influential network of youth and change-doers. This includes the Senisim PNG team of Port Moresby (POM). They share their stories with the participants, giving student leaders fresh motivation and confidence in their roles.

One student remarked, “This program opened my eyes to the kind of leader I want to become — someone who listens, learns, and leads with heart.”
IBSUniversity is helping students grow into thoughtful and responsible leaders through the Senisim PNG Leadership Training Program. The program encourages students to stand up for what’s right and make a difference in their communities.
