Inauguration of the Student-Led Conference: LEAD With Remington Group CEO Mr. Navin Raju

[IBSUniversity, Socrates Theatre -April 14 2025] IBSUniversity proudly inaugurated the student-Led Conference – LEAD, a unique initiative that mirrored the university’s learning approach – student-centred learning. This is not just an event; it is a pedagogical approach where students take ownership of their educational journey by engaging in active learning, leadership, and collaboration.

We were honored to welcome Mr. Navin Raju, CEO of Remington Group, as our Guest Speaker. We also extend our gratitude to Mr. Jobin Scaria, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic), for gracing the event with his presence.

There is a saying that goes “when you teach, you learn twice.” The LEAD conference manifests this belief by creating a platform for students to present and share knowledge gained from their academic projects, research proposals, industrial practice, and skill development experiences. From communication skills to time management, from critical thinking to teamwork, such ideological platforms allow students to exhibit how their competencies contribute to their growth and readiness for the professional environment.

We were privileged to host Mr. Navin Raju as our guest speaker for the inauguration of the LEAD conference, who expressed the following in his recent LinkedIn Post:

“The topic of my session was ‘Leading in a Dynamic World: Strategies for Success’, a subject close to my heart. I was deeply impressed by the students’ enthusiasm, thoughtful engagement, and the intelligent (and sometimes challenging!) questions they asked.

It was a privilege to connect with such bright young minds — our future leaders. Their curiosity and passion give me great hope for the future of our country.

Thank you once again for the warm welcome and the opportunity to contribute.”

Mr. Navin spoke on valuing lifelong learning, choosing humility over ego, and staying adaptable as roles and skillsets continue to shift. In today’s world, success often depends on who you’re connected to, what you’ve mastered, and how effectively you put it into practice.

The Student-Led Conference initiative encourages our students to move beyond passive lectures and take part in active learning through teaching, presenting, and engaging with peers. It supports IBS values, while also promoting a sense of individualism, community development, and leadership.

We look forward to more student-led initiatives like this, and to hosting sessions that help shape students into responsible, creative, value-driven, and socially-aware leaders—just as our vision and mission encourage.
