The Institute of Business Studies (IBS) continues to provide quality training and education to PNG when it had its training certificate renewed by the National Training Council (NTC) today.
National Training Council was proud to host for the first time, a public certificate presentation to its established training providers in the country.

This ensures more Papua New Guineans know which training providers are legally established and are of quality. Chairperson of the NTC Board and Secretary for Department of Labour and Industrial Relations, Mary Morola said there is a need for skills competency in the country. “All skills training should be relevant to the jobs in the industry and be of quality”, said Mary Morolo.

The Institute of Business Studies provides Competency Based Training with Certificate III in Accounting, Business and Information Technology (IT) and Certificate IV qualifications in Accounting, Marketing, Human Resource Management and I.T. Chief Executive Officer for IBS, Mr Edward Silva said training providers must identify skills needed for future and plan what skills to deliver to trainees. “With technology rapidly growing, we have to deliver skills and training suitable for the future”, added Mr Silva.

Apart from the training certification being renewed for IBS, six teaching staff were also issued certificates to be recognized as certified training instructors.

These academic staff members are George Sarr, Ishmael Paul, Kepa Darima, Sheila Numiman, Rebecca Paira and Joe Harry. IBS will now continue to deliver quality Competency Based Training to Papua New Guineans and encourages all its citizens to choose quality training and education that is provided at IBS.
